Little Did I Know

The Bread & Roses Theatre

A one woman show, 'Little Did I Know' is told from Yarl's Wood Detention and Romoval Central in England. Refugee, Aaneseh, recounts her journey whilst pretending to be a boy, from Syria to England. Her wise grandmother's Syrian folktales and insights sets Aaneseh up to the challenging road to freedom.

This show was a pleasure to work on, not only with an excellent creative team, but with such a moving piece really drawing attention to the severity of the refugee crisis today.

The Sound Design focusses on abstracting and immersing the audience into Aaneseh's world, delving between naturalistic and abstract soundscapes.
